Thanks for all the very helpful replies - The actual car I'm looking at is the new Dacia Duster. I think I'll be looking at the Tce engines since the car isn't that heavy - certainly its lighter than my current Ford Focus. Whilst the MPG on the diesel appears good I do have a concern about the long term value of a diesel car.
We tested the Dacia Sandero Stepway in high-end Prestige trim powered by a punchy 1.0-litre petrol engine that delivered 90hp and 160Nm of torque. It was matched to a six-speed manual gearbox and could complete the 0-62mph dash in 12.0 seconds going onto a maximum speed of 107mph.
If you are going to buy a used car powered by the 0.9 TCe engine, I wouldnât recommend looking at anything higher than 100,000 kilometers. Also, such a vehicle shouldnât cost a lot because of a very high risk of serious engine problems. So, selling a used Renault or Dacia with the 0.9 TCe engine is not that easy.
Not to be confused with nitrous oxide. *Less than average: based on similar sized engines between 798 and 998 engines. The following fuel emissions data outlines the official recorded CO 2 emissions level for the DACIA Sandero Stepway TCe 90, derived from the VCA Executive Agency of the Government's UK Department for Transport.
SOLUTION: a solution is expected from the manufacturer: after May 2023/ We try to implement and validate for the H4D engine (1.0 TCe 90/100) the technical solution that was also applied to the H5H engine (1.3 TCe 100-160 ), solution consisting of a spring that holds the rod pressed into the fixing, as well as a new safety in harder material, to

The car has recently undergone a service and mot at a Renault dealership, where I got the car just over 11 months ago. This only seems to happen when the engine

The full engine line-up includes: SCe 65: naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Available on Sandero only. TCe 90: turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit paired with a six-speed manual transmission or CVT automatic transmission.
The 0.9 Tce engine is very good. We went to the Lake District in May (wife and myself) from Luton absolutely no problem. It cruises 75-80 mph easily and is quiet and comfortable. If you always have 4 adults/luggage, or do high mileage then maybe the diesel would be a better choice. I dont do the mileage to warrant the extra cost of the diesel.
