Does anyone know the fork oil weight that comes stock in the 2017 500s? As posted its 4 weight, But I don't recommend that route, too hard to get as a routine and very expensive , and not worth the money. I run Honda ss7, easy to get and priced well (pretty much works like the 4 weight). Or you could get Belray 5 weight (reasonable cost). I have a new 2014 KTM 500 XCW, same issue with metal chips/flakes. I immediately called. dealer and spoke with service manager. He says this is totally normal with this particular bike and is why they say to change oil often and clean all screens including magnetic plug. Only the bottom mount works with the fuel pump housing on the EXC, XC-W, & XCs.
